SIRENS IN THE FOG
Travelling through the misty swamps,
Sirens are beckoning.
Many twists and turns,
as you slowly paddle your way through.
Do you know where you are going?
What are you looking for?
“Come hither!’ sing the Sirens.
Many different calls.
Which one will you heed?
As you head in their direction,
They will quickly affix their hooks
and slowly reel you in.
Once caught,
your choice is over.
Just like a fly
in a spider’s web.
Those sweet, alluring voices
tap right into deepest longings
but fail to deliver.
Beguilement, their purpose.
Entrapment and slow death, their outcome.
They will leave you starving,
as they feed on you.
Travelling through the swamps…
beware of Sirens.
